ENROLMENT

Enrolment Process

If you are wishing to enrol your child at our kura, please visit us in the office and we'll provide an enrolment pack with all the necessary forms to fill in. Alternatively, parents/caregivers can pre-enrol future students at Awapuni Primary School using our online form

Pre-enrolling in advance helps to prepare us for your child's intended start date and ensure we have everything in place for an easy transition into the classroom and our school community.

We will arrange a time for you to come in for an initial visit, where you will be able to ask any questions you may have and we can learn more about your child in preparation for their start. You will also have the opportunity to look around the school if you have not done so already.

Important: Parents of five-year-old children, and children who are new to New Zealand, must bring in their child’s birth certificate or passport to verify their date of birth. It is also essential you provide a copy of your child’s immunisation records – usually noted in their Well Child book or requested from your family doctor.

Please note; confirmation of your enrolment will only be given once all supporting documents have been received.

New Entrant School Visits

Pre-enrolling New Entrants in advance helps to prepare us for your child's intended start date and ensure we have everything in place for an easy transition into the classroom and our school community.

We suggest contacting the school office at least 6 weeks before your child's 5th birthday to arrange dates for their school visits. This allows enough time for at least 4 visits in the Piwaiwaka classroom to introduce them to their teacher, familiarise with the classroom environment, and with the pattern of a normal school day.

  2. 8:45 am - 11:20 am       (Morning only)
